Young people deserve opportunities to learn, grow, and connect in environments that support healthy choices. At HPW Coalition, we focus on creating experiences that empower youth while strengthening families and communities.
Our Youth Coalition gives middle and high school students a voice in prevention efforts. Members help shape campaigns, volunteer at events, and educate their peers—all while developing leadership skills and confidence.
Education remains central to our mission. Programs like Know the Law and Alcohol Awareness Initiatives provide students with real-world knowledge about substance use laws, impairment, and safety. Parent Sessions offer families resources and conversation guides that make it easier to talk openly about difficult topics.
HPW’s Community Events bring prevention to life. From kickball tournaments and movie nights to our annual 5K Color Run, these gatherings remind youth that fun doesn’t require substances. Families come together, community partners share resources, and everyone leaves feeling more connected.
Prevention also happens through action. Our compliance checks and drug disposal programs reduce access to harmful substances while promoting responsible retail practices and safe storage at home.
Building a drug-free community takes teamwork. Thanks to our partners, volunteers, and supporters, HPW continues to reach students, empower families, and strengthen Alachua County—one program at a time.
We invite you to get involved and be part of the change.
